How To Merge Projects

Easily consolidate tasks and projects for better organization and efficiency.

Merging projects in Atarim allows you to consolidate tasks from one project into another, helping streamline workflows and improve organization. This feature is particularly useful when transitioning from staging to live environments or combining duplicate projects.

Relevant For

  • Project Managers

Prerequisites

Access to the projects you want to merge.
  • An active Atarim account.
  • Access to both the From Project (where tasks currently exist) and the To Project (the destination project).

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the Project Screen

Description:
To start merging projects, navigate to the Project Screen in your Atarim dashboard.

Instructions:

  • Log in to your Atarim account.
  • Click on Projects in the main navigation.
  • Locate the project you want to merge tasks from.

Tip: Before merging projects, review both the From and To Projects to ensure you’re working with the correct ones.

2. Open the Merge Sites Option

Description:
Atarim provides a dedicated option to merge tasks between projects.

Instructions:

  • Hover over the project card for the From Project.
  • Click the kebab menu (three dots) on the project card.
  • Select Merge Sites from the dropdown menu.

Note: This option is specifically for web projects, ensuring a seamless transition between staging and live versions

3. Select the Projects to Merge

Description:
You need to define which project you want to move tasks from and where they should go.

Instructions:

  • In the Merge Sites modal, choose the From Project (the one with the tasks to be transferred).
  • Select the To Project (the destination project).

Tip: Make sure both projects are related to avoid unnecessary task duplication.

4. Migrate or Copy Tasks

Description:
Atarim allows you to either migrate (move) or copy (duplicate) tasks when merging projects.

Instructions:

  • Choose between:
    • Migrate Tasks (Tasks will be removed from the From Project and moved to the To Project).
    • Copy Tasks (Tasks will remain in both projects).
  • Click the corresponding button to proceed.

Recommendation: If the From Project is a staging site, migrating tasks ensures that all work is tracked in one place post-launch.

5. Confirm the Merge

Description:
Merging projects is irreversible, so Atarim provides a confirmation step before proceeding.

Instructions:

  • A confirmation screen will appear, notifying you that the action cannot be undone.
  • Review your selections carefully.
  • Click Confirm if you are sure.

Warning: Double-check that you are merging the correct projects, as this cannot be undone!

6. Wait for the Process to Complete

Description:
Depending on the number of tasks being moved, the process may take some time.

Instructions:

  • Allow a few minutes for the migration to finish, especially if handling a large volume of tasks.
  • Once completed, all tasks from the From Project will now appear in the To Project.

Tip: Refresh your To Project to verify that all tasks have been transferred successfully.
